On my second reading. First reading for me is always about who, what, when, where. Second reading is for nuance and depth. And yes, it's goodie!

Here's a non-spoiler question to begin. Did anyone spot a specific contemporary date in this book or its predecessor that gives us a point to firmly anchor it into the overall A-U timeline?

I did not. Perhaps it would be necessary to refer to the lengthy prolog to Downbelow Station? In which these events are probably alluded to?

Yeah. Thats one of the sources I've gone to, but I think that only helps with an upper limit for the range of possibilities. I've managed to identify a 15 year span from other sources but nothing more specific than that.
