One has discovered a new-to-me fan fiction novel "Connection" by our own Jackalgirl.  CJ gave her permission to make this available on a non-commercial basis (ie, ya can't charge for it). BTW, Jackalgirl did the BEST maps of the Earth of the Atevi, resolving as well as possible the various idiosyncrasies in the various novels.

So. I found this to be a splendid work. I feel like it SHOULD be canon. It is written with multiple viewpoints, and the story moves along quite rapidly. It does expand/extend some of the core concepts of the Atevi, namely the relationship between two aiji level people, who don't feel man'chi to others since they receive man'chi. The story is set near the current timeline, and centers on Machigi. 

Very highly recommended.
