‘Star, I’ve started the Dawn of everything and it certainly lives up to your recommendation.  A passage i just encountered, about how the Algonquins and other Northeastern Native American tribes had no means of persuasion other than reason - no governmental compulsion- reminded me of the book Women Talking (haven’t seen the movie yet but found the book really excellent). Can’t wait to keep on with this one. It is so interesting, and written in such an accessible and entertaining style. I am not real good these days with anything that requires sustained intellectual effort to comprehend but this book, while dealing with important and detailed material, remarkably makes it easy to follow.
