It's about 5F with wind chill taking it down to about -4. Not supposed to go above 25F today. We are still under a gale warning. Not really unusual for this time of year. We have had many a January where it does not go above freezing all month. I am not a fan, but it is the norm.

2:15 PM Saturday and it's a balmy 17F, still with the winds. Currently sitting squarely in a lake effect band for the rest of the day. Got out and cleared around the cars--nifty drifts there and between the houses. Town plows came by and the end of the driveway is now 4-4.5 ft deep (I'm not touching that!). Downstairs neighbor says hired plow guy reports he's working on getting out of his own driveway.

It was 13 at 8 this morning. Now at almost 6 PM it is a balmy 17. Snow flurries most of the day. At least the wind has dropped.

Yeah, 8 PM Saturday, the winds have dropped off significantly out here too.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

-10C (14F) for Boxing Day afternoon, with a snowdrift filling my patio about halfway.
-19C windchill, (-2F)
A serious improvement from my last post, but the printer ink is still AWOL. Tomorrow is the first 'business day' after Christmas, so not *too* cranky about that yet. (It would be good to have that package before school starts on the 3rd.)

All I can say is I’m envious of my friend who lives half the year in the highlands of western Panama, and enjoys daily comfortable nature walks all year round
