Re: A place to quarantine ranting and venting.

Aging is not for the faint of heart......or.....isn't aging fun?......or.......it's always sumthin'!
All my toes are crossed in hopes that the arm is taken care of ASAP, Joe.  It sounds extremely painful.
Meanwhile I am spending the day prepping for my second colonoscopy follow up after surgery in 2020.  I am apprehensive for no good reason other than the fact that I am most adept at inducing anxiety over anything.  Prep is the worst part, I know, but.......
I appear to be healthy except for quite low Vitamin B12.  Trying oral tabs, if that doesn't work then it's monthly injections.
We'll see, grasshopper.......we'll see.........

Re: A place to quarantine ranting and venting.

Phil is doing better.  He doesn't need to use the walker (zimmer?), but he can't go up stairs yet.  I've had 3 infusions of iron sucrose so far.  The afternoon after my second one, I felt pretty energetic.  After today's infusion, I just want to go to sleep. Maybe because I didn't sleep well last night after several nights of really good sleep.  Maybe because Cindy wasn't in the room those nights when I slept so well.
Now, I'm engaged in a great war.  It seems that at least two of my cats have fleas, and I could only treat two.  I'm also out of the spray, but I'll pick up both items when I take the oldest cat to the vet for a follow-up appointment.

Re: A place to quarantine ranting and venting.

Phil continues to improve.  He went from 8 reps of standing/sitting in 30 seconds to 11 reps.  He also made it up a flight of stairs.  My  status is still pending the results of my next blood test week after next.  If the iron infusions improved my hemoglobin levels, then I call the surgeon to set up surgery on the elbow.  Then it's a matter of when he can do it and when the hospital is available.

Re: A place to quarantine ranting and venting.

Phil's 100 days of close care end June 24, they have him scheduled to stay there until June 30, but he's shooting for the 24th.  He's allowed to go home on weekends, now,  he went home for his nephew's graduation on Memorial Day weekend.  All his numbers are up, so no transfusions .  It looks as though he might be out of the woods.

OTOH, my blood iron levels were up, so my primary care manager gave me clearance for surgery to repair he broken tunnel in my right arm. I turned in the paperwork to the surgeon's office, and and have to wait for the nurse to call me for the particulars:  date, time, location, whether it's outpatient or overnight.  Operation number six.

Re: A place to quarantine ranting and venting.

Happy for Phil, and hoping that twice third time will be the final surgery, with good results.  And I may have missed an update somewhere, but how are the house repairs progressing?

Thanks for the good wishes.
I have selected the roofer, which wasn't an easy process, but I managed to do it right.  They staged the shingles in the yard on Monday morning, and the dumpster is in my driveway.  It wasn't there when I left this morning, but was there this afternoon.  Tomorrow might be rainy, although it's less than 50% chance.  Thursday is supposed to be sunny and not too hot, so maybe they'll get a lot done.  I'll be gone most of the morning, but they won't be finished by the time I get back.  But once the roof is done, I can call the gutter company back so they can finish the job they started in May.

I don't expect a call from the doctor's office before Friday, but they might surprise me.
