I saw the surgeon this morning. He explained what he'd found. The tendon had split longitudinally with the lower end of the upper arm bone in between. A lot of drilling through the bone to make the anchor points for the new graft, which he secured with a fortified suture which I believe contains wire. He said he'd never seen anything like it before. I keep it in the 30 degree brace for another 9 days, and then start limited motion exercises.

In the last 5 days, I have had a COVID test (negative), a treadmill stress test, and now an echocardiogram. Nobody has raised any concerns, but I have a phone appointment with my interim PCM next week.

Doctor called this morning about the tests. Both tests showed that my heart is in great shape (even though it's been broken several times, but that's a different story). In fact, the echocardiogram shows that mt left ventricle is pumping more blood than it was 6 years ago when I had the last one done. This means not only more to the entire body, but especially to the heart itself. She said the probability of me having a cardiac event is less than 1%. My total cholesterol levels are down in the 120s so I don't believe arteriosclerosis is an issue, either.

More good news, brother goes in to the cancer center on the 10th, they'll start the process of killing off his bone marrow, and then on the 16th, they'll do the transplant...

Yesterday, I was given a brace that allows me to flex my arm 15 degrees. I can do 10 - 15 repetitions four times daily. In between, I have to put the immobilizing brace back on. Next week, we should be increasing the flexion. The doctor wants to go slowly because the arm has been immobilized for 4 weeks, and to gently stretch the tendon.

I haven't checked in for weeks, and it's wonderful to see such good news for Joe and brother! And I have nothing to rant or vent about today, so I won't spoil the ambience.
