    First Encounter

    Has anyone else dipped into this one, from last year’s Babbler list? I started but I am not enjoying it. It seems very amateurish to me. The characters seem to do stupid things; the explanations of how decontamination works feels like the author has never read any other science fiction in this area. I don’t think I will persist with this one, unless someone tells me persistence will be rewarded.

    I can't help you with this one, Kokipy.  I know nothing of this title or its author,

    I'll likely give it a miss as well, based on your initial reaction..

    I do have a book series to recommend in here somewhere, but I'll do it in a separate thread.  (Spoiler warning: it's not SF.)
     

    It's a strange world.  Let's keep it that way.
