Minor setback. Wednesday evening, I took my oldest cat to an emergency veterinary hospital about 35 miles away, as the hematoma on her left ear flap had burst. On the way home, I started experiencing severe chest pains, so I dropped the cat off at home and headed for the people hospital emergency room. They did and electrocardiogram, which showed no anomalies, nor did the blood tests. However, the COVID test showed me to be positive, but asymptomatic. They kept me overnight for observation, and began pumping 75ml of Remdesivir through my IV. I am still asymptomatic, but now quarantined for 10 days. I'll have to read the instructions they gave me to find out which day they're using as a start date.I had a vet appointment for today, cancelled. I have a crown implant follow-up at the dentist's, cancelled, a root canal filling, cancelled. An occupational therapy session followed by the surgeon's follow up, cancelled.
I need to set up an appointment with my primary care manager to refer me to cardiology for a stress test and possibly an echocardiogram. Crap! Crap! Crap!

It never rains but it pours, eh Joe. Doesn't sound like a fun way to celebrate the new year. Commiserations, and take care.

Oh Jeez - so sorry to hear this! Asymptomatic is good. Remdesevir? I can’t imagine why that would be done.

Thank you. I was discussing my medications with the nurses at the hospital, they believe that my use of hydroxychloroquine is helping to make this bout a mild one, so far. I haven't gone out, I'm in Day 3 of my 5-day quarantine, and I've told everyone that I know that I have, if I came into contact, even for a couple of minutes. I can go out on Jan. 4, but must remain masked if I leave my car until Jan 9. So far, this quarantine only affects one appointment, to check the new implant, and I have called the office to notify them and reschedule. Too bad I only reach their voice mail.
I'll post as things improve...

Rats!
Well, at least the quarantine is shorter. And you got "prior notice": about possible cardiac issues. I suppose those could be considered pluses. Still, what a series of events.

Got "the call" from the Ohio Department of Health a few minutes ago. Questions about who lives with me, where I work, etc. Quarantine ends on Tuesday, etc. Second time I've had one of these calls.
