In Asher's latest trilogy, The Soldier/The Warship/The Human, one of the ships is Morgaine's Gate. As 'Runcibles' (matter transmitting gateways) feature prominently, pretty certain this is nod to CJ.
Interesting, as their styles and stories are wildly different.
Asher is more like a nasty, virulent version of Bank's Culture.

I'm assuming this is in the third book, mahe, which I haven't got to yet. It's sitting in The Virtual Pile on the kindle waiting for me.
Iirc, Asher has read some of CJ's work. I recall a series of blog or farcebook posts some years ago where he showed photos of chunks of his old paperback collection in groups alphabetical by author and talked about the books shown. I'm sure there were CJC titles amongst them but I don't recall which ones ...
